FLASHCARD SET · AGES 18–24 MONTHS

First Concepts flashcards.

Eleven cards about how the world works: big and small, up and down, open and closed, full and empty, one and many — plus the posting game that puts a toy in, then takes it all out again. These are action words and size words — the cards work best when your toddler's whole body gets involved.

THE CARDS

Every card in the set.

Each card has its own page: the picture and short, practical notes for grown-ups — what it is for, how to use it, how to print it. Tap any card to open it.

HOW TO USE THESE CARDS

Four ways that work.

You do not need a plan or a printer schedule. Pick one idea, try it for two minutes and see what happens.

  1. 01

    Act out every card

These are doing words as much as looking words: stretch UP, curl DOWN, arms WIDE for big. The body remembers what the hands do.

  2. 02

    Say the pair together

Show big, then small — back to back. Opposites teach each other; one card makes the other make sense.

  3. 03

    Hunt the concept at home

After the full card, find a full cup and an empty one. Every card has a matching object somewhere in your house — the house is the second deck.

  4. 04

    Follow the energy

Some days the body cards (up, down, open) are the hit; other days the thinking ones (one, many) land. Let your toddler lead.

PRINT & DOWNLOAD

Print the set, download a card.

Every card page has its own download button with the full-size image. This set is printed straight from its class page.

PARENT REVIEWS

Parent reviews.

A different thing from the quick faces above: a star rating for the grown-ups, plus an optional line about how it went. Every review is read by the school office before it appears.
