ABOUT THIS WORKSHEET

What your child practices.

Numbering a line is ordinal thinking — not how many, but which one. The mouse is first, the horse is last, and every animal between has a position to find. Talking through the lineup (who is first? who is between the cat and the horse?) builds the position words children use all day: first, next, last.

  • Ordinal position 1 to 5
  • Writing numerals in line order
  • Using first and last
  • Finding between positions

On the sheet: Write 1 to 5 on the badges, in line order.
