Bus Driver Worksheet for Ages 4–5
A community-helpers worksheet for ages 4–5: trace the words BUS DRIVER, match the driver to the school bus, steering wheel and stop sign, circle the safe bus rules, count the windows and draw a safe bus stop — on screen or on paper.
The full sheet, exactly as the artist drew it.

The five steps on the sheet.
- 1
Trace
Trace the dotted words BUS DRIVER — two words, steady lines, just like the driver’s hands on the wheel.
- 2
Match
Draw a line from the bus driver to the school bus, the steering wheel and the stop sign.
- 3
Circle
Four rules sit in the grid, each written in words — circle every SAFE way to ride the bus. One of the four is wobbly and wrong!
- 4
Count
Count the windows on the little bus, then write the number in the box.
- 5
Draw
Draw a safe school-bus stop in the big box — you waiting back from the curb, the bus coming, your grown-up nearby.
Before you start, have the words ready: The bus driver steers a big, heavy vehicle full of children and must watch the road, not the noise. The rules: stay seated while the bus moves, keep hands and feet to yourself, use a quiet voice — and never run in the aisle. The stop sign on the bus tells cars to wait for children.
What this worksheet teaches.
What a bus driver does, the four rules of riding the school bus safely, and which rules are safe and which are not — plus how to write the words BUS DRIVER.
The school bus is often a child’s first ride without a parent, and knowing the rules turns nerves into pride. Safe-versus-unsafe sorting lets your child rehearse the aisle, the seat and the stop before the first real ride — the best kind of readiness.

Tips, questions and practice.
Say before you start: "This is the bus driver — she drives the school bus and keeps every rider safe. Trace the two words, then connect the school bus, the steering wheel and the stop sign. Now the four rules: which are safe? Count the little bus’s windows, and then draw your own safe bus stop."
Questions to ask: "What does the bus’s stop sign tell the cars?" "Which three bus rules are safe?" "Why do we stay seated while the bus moves?" "Where do we stand while we wait for the bus?"
Parent tips: Wait for the bus back from the curb, and wait for the driver’s signal before crossing in front — teach those two moves this week and your child owns the whole ride. Drivers are helpers; a wave and a good-morning is friendly practice.
Home practice: Next time you ride any bus or car, rehearse the rules in miniature: bottoms on seats, quiet voices, hands to yourself. The big yellow bus will feel like a friend when the day comes.
